The replacement of traditional metal materials with environmentally friendly materials has become an industry trend. The application rate of new materials such as bio-based hydraulic oil, recycled aluminum alloy, and composite materials continues to increase, promoting a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of products throughout their life cycle.
Material innovation mainly focuses on three directions: First, lightweight structural materials. The use of recycled aluminum alloy instead of traditional cast iron to manufacture the shell reduces the weight by 18% and the carbon footprint by 42%, while improving the anti-corrosion performance of the product, making it suitable for humid coastal environments. Second, environmental protection of hydraulic oil. The market penetration rate of bio-based hydraulic oil has increased from 8% in 2022 to 14% in 2025. This type of product uses plant extracts as raw materials, is biodegradable, reduces carbon emissions by 40% compared with traditional mineral oil, and has a service life extended by more than 50%. Third, high-performance sealing materials. The mass application of nano-composite sealing materials reduces the leakage rate of products from the industry average of 3‰ to below 0.5‰, while improving the high and low-temperature resistance, making them adaptable to extreme environments of -20℃ to +50℃.
Green manufacturing processes are also being upgraded simultaneously. Leading enterprises in the industry have gradually adopted water-based coatings instead of traditional solvent-based coatings, reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions by more than 80%; the promotion of short-process steelmaking and scrap recycling processes has reduced the carbon footprint of steel used in door closers by 42%. The degree of automation in the production process has increased significantly, with intelligent production lines accounting for more than 60%, and the product defect rate controlled below 0.3%, reducing resource waste. In addition, the product recycling system has been gradually established. The recovery rate of metal materials from scrapped door closers has reached more than 95%, and hydraulic oil can be recycled after professional treatment, realizing efficient resource allocation. In the next three years, the application rate of environmentally friendly materials is expected to increase to more than 60%, and enterprises that take the lead in realizing green transformation will obtain policy dividends and market competitive advantages.
