As a core component of the building door control system, the operating status of door closers is directly related to building safety and user experience. Industry data shows that more than 70% of door closer faults are caused by improper installation or lack of maintenance. Mastering scientific fault diagnosis and maintenance methods can extend the average service life of products from 5 years to more than 8 years.
The most common faults include incomplete door closing, too fast closing, oil leakage, and abnormal noise. Incomplete door closing is mostly caused by improper adjustment, door weight exceeding the load-bearing range, or excessive door frame gaps. To solve this problem, it is necessary to first check whether the rated load-bearing capacity of the door closer matches the door weight, then optimize the closing force by adjusting the speed valve, and replace the sealing strip to reduce the door frame gap if necessary. Too fast door closing may be caused by insufficient hydraulic oil or excessive spring tension. It is necessary to first check the hydraulic oil level and add hydraulic oil that meets the standard, then gradually adjust the regulating valve to an appropriate speed to avoid safety hazards caused by too fast closing. Oil leakage faults are mainly caused by aging seals or loose joints. During maintenance, the status of the sealing ring should be checked regularly, replaced in time if aging is found, and all connecting joints should be tightened to prevent hydraulic oil leakage from affecting performance. Abnormal noise is mostly caused by deteriorated oil, lack of lubrication in parts, or loose springs. It is necessary to regularly replace the hydraulic oil, apply special lubricants, and check the fixing status of the springs.
Daily maintenance should follow the principle of "quarterly inspection and annual maintenance". The quarterly inspection focuses on checking whether the fixing screws are loose, whether the closing speed is stable, and whether there is oil leakage. Especially before the high and low-temperature seasons, it is necessary to test the environmental adaptability of the product. Annual maintenance requires comprehensive disassembly and cleaning of parts, replacement of aging seals and hydraulic oil, and lubrication of moving parts. In special scenarios, in coastal areas, products with anti-corrosion performance meeting the 2,000-hour salt spray test standard should be selected, and salt on the shell surface should be removed regularly; in sanitary places such as hospitals and public toilets, products with easy-to-clean shell designs should be selected to avoid bacterial growth. In addition, for electric door closers, the power connection and battery status should be checked regularly to ensure normal operation in emergency situations.
